President Tinubu has reemphasized his dedication to restoring security to all regions of Nigeria. Tinubu made this vow through his Special Adviser on Policy Communications, Mr. Daniel Bwala, during a conference with the Charismatic Bishops of Nigeria at the State House in Abuja.
Mr. Bwala, addressing the eminent bishops led by Archbishop Chianson Chivir, reaffirmed Tinubu's readiness to decisively tackle numerous security issues bedeviling the country irrespective of the region or religion being used to perpetrate crimes.
"Our security forces have received fresh marching orders to deal ruthlessly with all criminal elements threatening the peace and unity of our nation,” Bwala reassured the bishops on behalf of the President. “We are also working with state governors to address the root causes of insecurity so that every Nigerian can pursue their dreams in safety.”
Bwala further informed the bishops that the government’s new approach to security would be all-encompassing and urged them to share a common sense of purpose that would make all and sundry to collectively speak against crimes, irrespective of tribal or religious sentiments .
According to Bwala, recent economic reforms implemented by the Tinubu-led government are already yielding good results as a result of increased revenue for states and a significant reduction in strike actions across all sectors.
"We need your prayers, your voices, and your influence to guide our people toward unity and peace,” Bwala urged the reverend bishops to direct their followers toward unity and peace through their prayers, voices and influence.
On behalf of the delegation, Archbishop Chianson commended the Tinubu government for its laudable reforms and inclusive administration. He specifically commended him for the recent approval for the recruitment and deployment of forest guards, describing it as a timely intervention to checkmate rising insecurity across forests in all geopolitical zones.
"The Church in Nigeria acknowledges the fairness in your appointments. “These actions give hope to all Nigerians, regardless of faith or region.” Archbishop Chianson concluded.
