“I Have Been Part Of Every Discussion About Coalition” -Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has expressed uncertainty about his next move if the proposed coalition of political leaders fails to nominate him as their presidential candidate. Obi made this known on Sunday during an X-space discussion hosted by ParallelFact.

The coalition, spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, among others, is yet to adopt a party or finalize its candidate.

When asked about his next step if the coalition doesn’t choose him, Obi replied, “I attend every meeting unless I’m away. We discuss issues collectively. I believe the coalition’s goal is to unite for the country’s benefit. We’re yet to reach the stage where we decide on a candidate.

“I think when the time comes, we’ll make a decision that benefits the nation. I always consult with my team and won’t act unilaterally. If I become President, I’ll ensure decisions are made collaboratively.”

Obi emphasized that the coalition’s priority is to find a suitable candidate through consultation and consensus.
