“Power-Hungry Politicians:” Presidency Slams Elrufai, Others

The Presidency has criticized former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai for his contradictory stance on President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

El-Rufai had previously stated that four years is insufficient for a political office holder to make meaningful changes, yet he’s leading efforts to oust Tinubu just two years into his tenure.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, responded to El-Rufai’s claims, highlighting the achievements of Tinubu’s administration. “In contrast to the political laggards and underachievers who were once governors in Anambra, Rivers, and Kaduna, President Tinubu and his team have implemented meaningful changes in our country over the past two years, positioning us on the path of prosperity,” Onanuga said.

Onanuga further accused El-Rufai and other critics of being “power-hungry politicians” who have become “politically displaced and irrelevant.” He concluded, “Yet, these power-hungry politicians want the President, who has achieved so much, to be removed, all because they have become politically displaced and irrelevant. May they never succeed in their plot against our nation and people.”
